We have been informed by Big’s Sanitation that trash collection rates will be as follows beginning July 1, 2024. Residents will choose one of two options.
Option 1
Payment of $180 by July 31, 2024 to cover the months July, August, September, October, November, December.
Payment of $180 by January 31, 2025 to cover the months of January, February, March, April, May, June.
or
Option 2
Payment of $350 for the entire year by July 31, 2024 with a $10 discount.
or
Option 3
Four Quarterly Payments of $90 each.
1st payment due on July 31, 2024 to avoid late fees.
2nd payment is due on October 31, 2024 to avoid late fees.
3rd payment due on January 31, 2025 to avoid late fees.
Final payment due on April 30, 2025 to avoid late fees.
There will be a rate freeze for our final year of this contract.
Residents should note that these fees are not set by the borough. There is a nominal charge for printing, billing and mailing of the trash bills as our current trash hauler does not provide this service to the borough as previous trash haulers have done.
Also Note: It has come to council’s attention that collections have been missed. Please report this immediately to our borough administrator at 724 – 929-8080.
This is an unacceptable situation and the trash hauler has been made aware of it.
As a reminder, it is a borough ordinance that trash must be contained in trash cans – plastic or otherwise. It is against the ordinance to place bags or uncontained trash on the curb or in alley’s.
