BELLE VERNON, PA – Belle Vernon Borough will receive $250,000 in state funding through Pennsylvania’s Local Share Account (LSA) Program to purchase a new street sweeper and dump truck, according to an announcement by State Rep. Ryan Warner.
The grant was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority as part of nearly $1.8 million in LSA funding awarded to projects throughout Fayette County. The program, funded through gaming revenues under Act 71 of 2004, supports community improvement, infrastructure upgrades and economic development projects across Pennsylvania.
The new equipment will help Belle Vernon Borough improve the maintenance of local streets and stormwater infrastructure, enhance snow removal operations, maintain borough parks and increase the efficiency of other municipal services.
“This funding will provide Belle Vernon Borough with critical equipment needed to better serve our residents and maintain our community assets,” borough officials said. “The purchase of a new street sweeper and dump truck will strengthen the borough’s ability to respond to everyday maintenance needs while improving the quality of services provided to taxpayers.”
Rep. Warner said the grants will help municipalities address important local needs and strengthen services residents rely on every day.
The Local Share Account program provides funding for projects that improve public infrastructure, enhance public safety and support community development initiatives throughout the Commonwealth.
