PennDOT Engineering District 12-0 has advised the borough of planned improvements that will begin with the on the Interstate 70 interchange at Exit 41, the Belle Vernon/Monessen interchange.
The work will continue to the Arnold City interchange in Rostraver Township (Exit 44).
PennDOT says the construction will last approximately six(6) months and is scheduled to begin September 12
PennDOT says the work will include the installation of fiber optics, conduit, junction boxes, concrete patching, milling, resurfacing, replacing concrete median barrier, replacing inlet tops, replacing pavement base drain, guide rail, tree trimming, signing, delineation and line painting.
One lane of traffic will be maintained during construction hours, which will be at night and will involve posted detours when work is done on the ramps at the Belle Vernon/Monessen Interchange (Exit 41) The nightly closures will begin at 6PM and end at 6AM. Weekend lane closures may also occur from Friday evening at 6PM until 6AM Monday to accommodate draining repair in the median.
